The Northern Uganda Media Club (NUMEC) will hold a virtual training on energy reporting for journalists in northern Uganda on August 22, 2024. The training will enable journalists to develop a firm understanding of Uganda’s evolving energy landscape and how to report effectively on the subject. The online engagement will be facilitated by Jeff Mbanga, an experienced energy journalist who is now the Observer Business Editor and Founder of Deep Earth, a communications firm, and a team from NUMEC.
Eligibility
This training is available to all reporters, editors, news and program producers, and any interested staff working in radio, television, print, and online news platforms in Uganda. Women are specifically encouraged to attend.
Why should I attend?
By the end of the training, participants will have an increased awareness and understanding of the energy sector in Uganda, how it has evolved, and how affects other sectors of the economy. The participants will also be able to generate potential story ideas to report on after the training.
